For the second straight year, Hoosier Energy member cooperatives awarded over $100,000 in college scholarships to local students.
A total of 94 students were selected as recipients of these scholarships, many of which were funded by Operation Round Up, which allows cooperative members to voluntarily round up their monthly electric bills to the next dollar. The extra change helps support various charitable, educational, community and youth-related programs or events, such as scholarships.
Here are the 2026 scholarship winners:
バーソロミュー郡 REMC awarded a pair of $1,500 scholarships to Braelei Ernest of CSA New Tech High School (Indiana Wesleyan) and Kaelynn Engleau of Columbus North (Purdue). The annual Alex Barkes Memorial Scholarship winner of $6,000 was Mariah Vail of CSA New Tech High School. She has already earned 30-plus college credits through the Information Technology Ivy Tech Pathway and is headed to Indiana University Indianapolis to study Pre-Investigative and Forensic Science.
クラーク郡 REMC awarded a total of 15 scholarships, highlighted by the $2,500 Cindy Hockensmith Memorial Scholarship to Hailey Browning of Our Lady of Providence. She will study Mechanical Engineering at Purdue.
Receiving $1,000 scholarships to IU Southeast were Munir Abraham and Skye Berry of Community Montessori; Evan O’Neil and Carsten Scott of New Albany; Lisa Weeks, Joseph Williams and Zella Trindenmar of Silver Creek; Homeschooler Christian Stutzman; Claire Tripure of Floyd Central; Kylie Ball of New Washington; and William Bowlin Voskuhl of Rock Creek.
Also receiving $1,000 scholarships were Danika Walker of New Washington and Ariel Robb of Borden, both heading to Ivy Tech, as well as Christian Academy of Indiana’s Sophie Henley, who is headed to Purdue Polytechnic Institute.
ディケーター郡 REMC awarded a trio of $1,000 scholarships to Catherine Bradshaw, Julia Meyer and Avalyn Stricker.
The six winners of a $1,500 scholarship from ハリソンREMC are: Dakota Cortie of Lanesville, Anna Haskins of Corydon Central, Emilia Hudson of Floyd Central, Dakota McClure of North Harrison, Ava Schmelz of South Central and Lucas Weber of Providence.
ヘンリー郡 REMC announced six recipients of its $1,000 scholarship awards. They are: Sydney Crisp of Blue River Valley; Karter Gray, Zane Mitchell and Gabrielle Patrick of Shenandoah, Zavier Hanson of Tri and Barron Smith of Cowan.
ジャクソン郡REMC announced a trio of $1,000 scholarship winners for 2026. They are: Jenna Hollen of Salem, Layla Manship of West Washington and Anna Obermeyer of Seymour.
オレンジ郡 REMC announced a pair of scholarship winners for 2026. Josie Robinson of Springs Valley and Laney Cambron of West Washington each received $2,250.
There are six winners of $2,000 scholarships from ラッシュシェルビーエネルギー. The two scholarship application winners were Lila French of Franklin County and Eli Sego of Triton Central. The other four recipients were Luck of the Draw winners at the annual meeting: Jacob Branson, Silas Frye, Connor McClure and Elizabeth Nobbe.
南中央インディアナ REMC named five winners of the $1,000 annual John D. Rudd Scholarships. They are: Noah Burns of Mooresville, Boston Chambers of Edgewood, Hannah Crain of Edgewood, Sarah Nichols of Cloverdale and Rayce Wolff of Martinsville.
A trio of $500 scholarship winners were announced by 南東インディアナ REMC. They are: East Central’s Quinn Burdette and Caleb Kraus along with Lindsey Gross of Christian Academy of Madison.
サザンインディアナパワー announced nine recipients of $500 Operation Round Up scholarships. The winners were: Amara Combs of Tell City, Elizabeth Daming, Kailey Gibbs and Ava Sublett of South Spencer; Alexa Fleck and Molley Meyer of Heritage Hills; and Makenna Labbart, Elijah Pund and Reece Winter of Perry Central.
ウェイン・ホワイト郡電気協同組合 announced 13 scholarship winners for 2026. Awarded the $1,000 Frontier Community College Lineman Scholarship in honor of Gerry Kinney were Roan Durmus, Sawyer Patterson and Weston Bierman. Earning $500 scholarships via the annual meeting draw were: Homeschooler Annsley Healy; Jackson Hensley of Edwards County; Walker Isle of Fairfield; Kelsey Lowery and Owen Russell of Norris City-Omaha-Enfield; Liam McCarthy of Cisne; Ashtyn Rahmoeller of Grayville; Alexa Windle of Carmi-White; Dawson Wood of Wayne City; and Sawyer Woodrow of Hamilton County.
There were 11 winners of a $750 scholarship from ホワイトウォーターバレー REMC in 2026. They are: Brooklynne Adams, Rayann Eley, Jaymi Hensley, Gwynn Higbie, Whitney King, Livia Maddock, Rosalia Schwarb, Kendall Spears, Carson Terrell, Vanessa Vance and Joshua Welch.
Finally, WIN Energy awarded 10 recipients of its $1,000 scholarship program. The 2026 winners are: Samuel Couch, Spencer Hanks and Abigail Shrever of Sullivan; Kenzie Ellis of Princeton; Alli Hayden and Kassandra Small of South Knox; Kali Kelm-Kixmiller and Emma Stine of Vincennes Rivet; Layla Johnson of Terre Haute South; and Iva Summers of North Knox.
