Hoosier, GDS Associates offer expert assistance to determine eligibility, qualifying projects

Bloomington, Ind. — In an effort to provide technical support to agricultural producers and rural small businesses applying to the USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), Hoosier Energy, along with GDS Associates, is now assisting applicants from the state of Indiana in that process. Eligible entities pursuing energy projects planning to use underutilized technologies or seeking grants under $20,000 should contact Hoosier Energy. The USDA program directs its priority to distressed or disadvantaged areas.

Small businesses or farms that are part of a qualifying community could be eligible for the USDA’s Rural Energy for America Program, Technical Assistance Grant (REAP TAG). Hoosier Energy & GDS Associates’ assistance to determine eligibility for qualifying projects will be at no cost to the applicant. Although not based on utility providers, Hoosier Energy will focus application efforts on member-system territories.

Hoosier Energy’s Manager of Member Solutions, Blake Kleaving, said: “The TAG funding is a great opportunity for small businesses and ag producers to receive expert assistance if interested in energy efficiency or renewable projects within their operations. The USDA REAP program has a long history of funding rural development and our technical assistance grant makes accessing these funds even easier and simpler for consumers.”

Program terms and restrictions apply. For more information, contact Blake Kleaving at (812) 876-2021.
